Adoptions 2007

In 2007, 48 individuals were adopted in Iceland. Step-adoptions were 27 and primary adoptions 21. In 17 cases children in primary adoptions came from other countries than Iceland, most of them from China (13). In step-adoptions, adoptive parents were most frequently stepfathers (22 cases), in one case the adoptive parent was a step-mother. Four individuals in registered partnership adopted their spouse‘s child.
