Overnight stays in hotels in Feburary 2009
Overnight stays in hotels decreases between years in February
In February 2009, overnight stays in hotels were 72,900 and decreased by 6% compared with February 2008. Overnight stays in the East region decreased by 50% and in the Capital region by 11%. In other regions overnight stays increased compared to February 2008.
The number of overnight stays by foreigners in February decreased by 1% and 17% by Icelanders compared with February 2008.
The data above only show overnight stays in hotels that are operating for the whole year. Guesthouses and summer hotels are not included in this category.
