The CPI increases 0.5% from previous month
The Consumer Price Index based on prices in June is 400.1 points (May 1988=100), 0.50% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 380.7 points, 0.61% higher than in May.
Prices of petrol and diesel oil declined by 3.2% (effect on the index -0.19%) while international airfares rose by 11% (0.19%) and prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.1% (0.15%).
The CPI is 5.4% higher in June 2012 than in June 2011 and the CPI less housing cost is 5.5% higher than one year ago. Over the last three months, the CPI and the CPI less housing cost have increased by 1.3%, equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 5.2%.
The CPI compiled in the middle of June 2012, 400.1 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in August 2012. The old credit terms index for August 2012 is 7,900 points.
