There were 529 new registrations of private limited companies in the 3rd quarter of 2017, a 9% decrease from the same quarter last year. A total of 106 corporate insolvencies were registered in the 3rd quarter, 12% less than in the 3rd quarter of the previous year.
There were 99 new registrations during the period in Construction, which is an increase of5% from the same period in the previous year. Also of note is an 11% increase in Financial and insurance activities, where 69 new registrations were recorded during the period. On the other hand there was a decrease of 21% in Real estate activities, where 73 new private limited companies were registered. There were 2,588 new registrations in the period from October 2016 to September 2017, a 4% decrease compared with the prior 12 months.
The highest number of insolvencies in the 3rd quarter was in Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, 30 insolvencies, which is a 20% increase from the same quarter last year. Corporate insolvencies in the last 12 months were 713, which is a decrease of 19% when compared with the previous 12 months.
