Total labour costs per hour decreased between the 2nd and 3rd quarters 2012 by 1.1% in the economic activity of Construction, 2.0% in Manufacturing, 4.3% in Transport, storage and communication and by 4.6% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair.

Total labour costs excluding bonuses increased between quarters by 0.8% in the economic activity of Manufacturing. During the same period the total labour costs per hour decreased by 0.3% in Construction, by 2.1% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair and by 2.2% in Transport, storage and communication.
 
From the previous year, total labour costs rose in all economic activities. The increase ranged from 3.1% in Transport, storage and communication to 5.8% in Construction. During the same period total labour costs excluding bonuses rose from 4.1% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair to 6.2% in Construction.

 

The labour cost index measures, on a quarterly basis, the development of labour costs per hour worked. The index is not adjusted to changes in working hours or labour structure.
