One out of five 25 to 29 year olds lived in their parental home in 2016 (20.3%), 24.8% of men and 15.6% of women.
Almost 200 thousand (199,870) of persons aged 16-74 years were employed in the Icelandic labour market in the second quarter of 2018, according to register data on employment. This is an increase by 11.8% in the last ten years, from the second quarter of 2008 or by 21,016 persons.
According to preliminary figures for September 2018, the value of exported goods amounted to ISK 48,700 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 63,800 million fob.
In the first eight months of 2018, the value of exported goods from Iceland amounted to ISK 388,400 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 501,700 million fob.
The value of catch from Icelandic vessels in June 2018 was 7.5 billion ISK, an increase of 4.2% compared with June 2017.
Overnight stays in all accommodation in August were 1,734,000, compared with 1,575,000 in August last year.
