Export of services for the first quarter of 2014, according to preliminary figures, was 84,959 million ISK and the import of services 84,117 million ISK. Therefore, the services trade surplus in the first quarter of 2014 was 842 million ISK but the deficit in the first quarter of 2013 was 187 million ISK at current exchange rates.
Transport was the largest category within export of services and the surplus of transport was 14,916 million ISK. Other services than transport and travel was the largest category within imports of services and the deficit of other services was 15,776 million ISK. The surplus of travel services was 1,702 million ISK.
