The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based on prices in August 2015 is 432.3 points (May 1988=100), 0.53% higher than in July 2015. The CPI less housing cost is 400.3 points, 0.50% higher than in July.
Summer sales have somewhat come to a close causing an increase in prices of clothing and footwear by 5.4% (effect on the index 0.21%). Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.1% (0.16%) and the cost of housing, water and electricity rose by 0.5% (0.14%). Prices decreased for petrol and diesel oil by 4.0% (-0.15%).
The CPI is 2.2% higher in August 2015 than in August 2014 while the CPI less housing cost is 0.7% higher than one year ago.
The CPI compiled in the middle of August 2015, 432.3 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in October 2015. The old credit terms index for October 2015 is 8,536 points.
