Social indicators: Shift-work in Iceland 2006–2016
Shift-work is rather common in Iceland relative to other European countries. In 2016, 26.1% of employees in Iceland worked shifts, which is the ninth highest proportion in Europe and 7.6 percentage points above the EU average. The proportion of shift-workers has increased since 2008 when it stood at 20.6%. The proportion of shift-workers did not differ between men and women in 2016.
