The data consist of number of cases appealed to the Supreme Court and number of judgements delivered. The data is also categorised by type of cases and by verdict.1.2 Statistical concepts

The calendar year.2.2 Process time
The process time is short. The data for the number of cases appealed and judgements is collected from the Supreme Court's annual report. The data for cases categorized by type of cases and by verdict is released by the office of the Supreme Court almost in a final version. 2.3 Punctuality
The figures for the previous year are accessible in the autumn. Two tables are published in the Statistical Yearbook of Iceland, Landshagir and the same two tables are released as statistical web tables. 2.4 Frequency of releases
