The CPI based on prices in September 2009 is 349.6 points (May 1988=100), 0.78% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 328.9  points, 0.86% higher than in August.

Prices of clothing and footwear rose by 6.2% (effect on the index 0.35%) and prices of groceries by 1.5% (0.26%). Cost of owner occupied housing increased by 0.8% (0.10%), thereof the effect of higher market prices was 0.14% and of lower real interest rates -0.04%.

Prices of petrol and diesel oil fell by 2.8% (-0.15%) and airfares for international flights fell by 12.7% (-0.12%).

The CPI in September 2009 is 10.8% higher than in September 2008 while the CPI less housing cost is 15.7% higher than one year ago. Over the last three months, the CPI has increased by 1.5%, equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 6.1% (8.7% for the CPI less housing cost).

The CPI compiled in the middle of September 2009, 349.6 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in November 2009. The old credit terms index for November 2009 is 6,903 points.
