The 2011 census provides information on the population, education, employment, as well as families and households. Furthermore, reliable and extensive information on housing, the number of apartments, summerhouses, vacant flats as well as other information on the housing situation in Iceland is published by Statistics Iceland for the first time in 50 years. Information is largely available for each municipality, not only for regions or larger areas.
