There was a trade deficit, calculated on fob value, of 12.4 billion ISK as compared with a trade deficit of 20.1 billion ISK in July 2019, at current rates of exchange.
Based on first reports on overnight stays at hotels in July 2020 there is an estimated 47% reduction in overnight stays from July last year. Furthermore, the concurrent estimate of bed occupancy rate in July 2020 was 46.1% compared with 70.5% during the same month last year.
The total catch of Icelandic vessels in 2019 was 1.047.568 tonnes which is 17% less than in 2018. The first sale value of catch increased by 13.4% between years and amounted to 145 billion ISK in 2019.
Experimental statistics: The proportion of individuals between 16 and 19 not in education or employment increases
Individuals aged between 16 and 19 not in education or employment numbered 1.164 in November 2018, an increase from 986 in November 2017. The highest proportional change was among 19 year olds, with an increase from 8,1% to 10,8%.
