Harvest of potatos in 2024 was 5,514 tons, the smallest since 1993 when it was 3,913 tons. The total grain harvest in 2024 was just over 5,100 tons, the smallest since 2018.
However, there was an increased harvest of tomatoes and peppers in greenhouse crops compared with 2023. The cucumber production has been growing steadily for the past 20 years. Harvest of lettuce, which is mostly produced in greenhouses, was 553 tons, a 6% decrease from 2023. Nevertheless, this was the third largest lettuce harvest ever recorded.
The carrot harvest was 481 tons, the smallest harvest in 11 years and 53% less than in 2023. The beet harvest was 549 tons, 14% less than in 2023.
Moreover, milk production in 2024 was just over 158 thousand tons, the highest since 1977 when data collection began. Wool production also increased from the previous year and was 553 tons.
