New registrations of private limited companies increased by 10% over the last 12 months, from October 2014 to September 2015, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 2,255 new registrations during that period. The highest increase of new registrations was in Accommodation and food service activities, 43% increase over a 12 months period. Also, it is worth noting an increase in registrations in Real estate activities (33%), Manufacturing (26%) and Construction (23%). Proportionately, the greatest decrease in new registrations over the last 12 months was 26% in Transportation and storage.
Corporate insolvencies decreased by 13% over the last 12 months, from October 2014 to September 2015, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 716 corporate insolvencies during that period. The greatest decrease of insolvencies was in Financial and insurance activities, 30%; while Manufacturing has seen a 29% decrease in insolvencies over the last 12 months. Proportionately, the greatest increase in insolvencies over the last 12 months was 21% for Administrative and support service activities, compared with the prior 12 months.
