There were 275 new registrations of private limited companies in June 2016. New registrations increased by 18% over the last 12 months, from July 2015 to June 2016, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 2,633 new registrations during the period, compared with 2,232 in the previous 12 months. The greatest increase in new registrations was in Real estate activities, from 279 to 413, or a 48% increase from the previous 12 months. Also of note is an increase in registrations from 168 to 231 in Administrative and support service activities (38%), and an increase from 42 to 57 in Transportation and storage (36%). Proportionately, the greatest decrease in new registrations during the period was 6% in Professional, scientific and technical activities (from 233 to 220).
There were 102 corporate insolvencies registered in June 2016. Corporate insolvencies increased by 12% over the last 12 months, from July 2015 to June 2016, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 840 corporate insolvencies during the period, compared with 751 in the previous 12 months. The greatest proportional increase in insolvencies during the period was from 124 to 174 in Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (40%), and from 38 to 50 in Information and communication (32%). The greatest proportional decrease of insolvencies was from 91 to 78 in Real estate activities (14%).
