There were 222 new registrations of private limited companies in November 2016. New registrations increased by 15% over the last 12 months, from December 2015 to November 2016, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 2,688 new registrations during the period, compared with 2,328 in the previous 12 months. The greatest proportional increase in new registrations was in Administrative and support service activities, from 163 to 274, or a 68% increase from the previous 12 months. Also of note is an increase from 45 to 61 in Transportation and storage (36%), and an increase from 278 to 355 in Construction (28%). There was a 4% decrease in new registrations during the period in Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (from 282 to 271).
There were 100 corporate insolvencies registered in November 2016. Corporate insolvencies increased by 63% over the last 12 months, from December 2015 to November 2016, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 1,010 corporate insolvencies during the period, compared with 618 in the previous 12 months. The greatest proportional increase in insolvencies during the period was from 33 to 91 in Financial and insurance activities (176%); in Professional, scientific and technical activities, from 46 to 97 (111%); in Information and communication, from 32 to 63 (97%); and in Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, from 103 to 202 (96%). There was an increase in the number of insolvencies for all major industries during the period. The smallest increase was in Transportation and storage, where it went from 20 to 22 (10%).
