The surplus of balance of trade in goods and services in the third quarter of 2018, as published in National Accounts and Balance of Payments, was 80,000 million ISK according to preliminary figures, compared with 69,400 million ISK in the third quarter of 2017. The deficit of converted trade in goods was 43,700 million ISK while the surplus of balance of trade in services was 123,700 million ISK, in the third quarter of 2018.
Total exports of goods and services for the third quarter of 2018 were 398,200 million ISK while total imports of goods and services were 318,100 million ISK.
Parallel to this publication, Statistics Iceland updates data for monthly trade in goods and services for the first nine months of 2018. Previously, data for the first eight months of 2018 has been published. In this publication, September has been added.
In September, total exports of trade in goods and services are estimated 127,100 million ISK and total imports of trade in goods and services are estimated 103,900 million ISK. The surplus of balance of trade in goods and services is therefore estimated 23,200 million ISK in September 2018.
These figures are published in the Transition tables on Statistic Iceland’s website, which harmonizes the standards for trade in goods and balance of payment.
