According to preliminary figures for June 2018, the value of exported goods amounted to ISK 50,700 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 71,600 million fob. Thus, there was a deficit of ISK 20,900 million in June 2018, calculated on fob value.
In June 2018 the value of exported goods was 5,900 million higher than in June 2017 or 13.1% at current exchange rate, mainly due to increased exports in industrial products.
The value of imported goods in June 2018 was 11,900 million higher than in the same month last year or 19.9% at current exchange rate. This difference is mostly due to imports of fuels and industrial supplies.
It should be borne in mind that these are preliminary figures that may change due to regular revision.
