Total export revenues of trade in services for the first quarter of 2016, according to preliminary figures, were 109,969 million ISK and the import expenditure of services 83,094 million ISK. Therefore, the services trade surplus in the first quarter of 2016 was 26,874 million ISK. The surplus in the first quarter of 2015 was 20,655 million ISK at current exchange rates.
Travel is the largest category within import and export of services and the surplus of travel was 13,343 million ISK. Transport services had the largest surplus with 23,318 million ISK. The largest deficit, 9,833 million ISK, was recorded for the category Other business services.
