Balance of trade
The value of exported goods from Iceland amounted to ISK 67,700 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 70,900 million fob January-April 2004. Thus there was a trade deficit of 3,200 million as compared with a trade surplus of 4,000 million in January-April 2003, at fixed rates of exchange¹.
Exports
The total value of exports of goods January-April 2004 was 4,300 million or 6.8% higher at constant rates of exchange than the same period the year before.
Imports
The total value of imports of goods January-April 2004 showed an increase of 11,600 million or 19.5% higher than in the same period last year, at fixed rates of exchange.
