According to preliminary figures for July 2008 the value of exported goods amounted to ISK 34,400 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 52,600 million fob. Thus, there was a trade deficit of ISK 18,200 million in July 2008, according to the preliminary figures, calculated on fob value.

There is an indication of increase in the imports of industrial supplies and fuels but a decrease in the exports of aircrafts, marine products and aluminium in July in comparison to June this year.
