Export of services for the second quarter of 2015, according to preliminary figures, was 148,981 million ISK and the import of services 94,276 million ISK. Therefore, the services trade surplus in the second quarter of 2015 was 54,704 million ISK but the surplus in the second quarter of 2014 was 32,144 million ISK at current exchange rates.
Travel was the largest category within both imports and exports of services in the second quarter. Export of travel services was 54,558 million ISK and import 34,137 million ISK. Therefore the surplus of travel was 20,421 million ISK. Surplus of travel services in the same quarter of 2014 was 11,222 million ISK.
Export of transport services was 50,767 million ISK in the second quarter and import of transport services was 17,165 million ISK. Therefore the surplus was 33,602 million ISK.
Other business services had the largest deficit of 14,818 million ISK. Import was 23,093 million ISK and export 8,275 million ISK.
