NEWS RELEASE EXTERNAL TRADE 04 DECEMBER 2020

The value of exported goods amounted to 53 billion ISK fob according to preliminary figures for November 2020 while the value of imported goods amounted to 58.5 billion ISK fob. Thus, there was a trade deficit, calculated on fob value, of 5.5 billion ISK as compared with a trade deficit of 7 billion ISK in November 2019, at current rates of exchange.

The value of exported goods was 0.8 billion ISK more in November 2020 than in November 2019 or 1.5% at current exchange rates. The main difference is more value in the export of marine products, but on the other hand less value in manufacturing products.

The value of imported goods in November 2020 was 0.7 billion ISK lower than in November 2019 or 1.2% at current exchange rate. The decrease is mainly linked to less import of fuel and transport equipment.

It should be noted that these are preliminary figures and might change due to regular revision.
