NEWS RELEASE EXTERNAL TRADE 05 NOVEMBER 2020

The value of exported goods amounted to 61.5 billion ISK fob according to preliminary figures for October 2020 while the value of imported goods amounted to 61.9 billion ISK fob. Thus, there was a trade deficit, calculated on fob value, of 0.4 billion ISK as compared with a trade deficit of 0.3 billion ISK in October 2019, at current rates of exchange.

The value of exported goods was 3.6 billion ISK lower in October 2020 than in October 2019 or 5.5% at current exchange rates. The main difference is less value in the export of marine products, but on the other hand the value in the export of industrial products increased.

The value of imported goods in October 2020 was 2.9 billion ISK lower than in October 2019 or 4.5% at current exchange rate. The decrease is mainly linked to less fuel import.

It should be noted that these are preliminary figures and might change due to regular revision.
