In 2017 the export production of marine products amounted to 197 billion ISK and decreased by 15.2% from the previous year, 12.9% at constant prices. The total export in 2017 was 610 thousand tonnes which is 30 thousand tonnes more than in 2016.
Frozen products generated 48.9% of the export value, while iced/chilled products were 23.3%. The greatest value was generated by frozen cod, 31,8 billion ISK and 31,4 billion by iced cod products. Around 72% of the export value was from products sold to Europe.
