The total fish catch in August 2022 was about 103 thousand tonnes according to preliminary data, which is 6% less than the catch in August 2021. Demersal catch was 32 thousand tonnes and pelagic catch was 68 thousand tonnes.
In the 12 months period from September 2021 to August 2022 the total catch was about 1.6 million tonnes which is 52% more than in the same period one year earlier. Pelagic catch was just over one million tonnes and demersal catch was 432 thousand tonnes.
Index value of catch in fixed prices is not published for now due to uncertainty in the quality of the data used for the index.
