Total catch landed in August 2026 was 71 thousand tonnes, 33% less than in August 2025. The demersal catch was 33 thousand tonnes, representing a 9% increase compared with August 2025. The pelagic catch was over 35 thousand tonnes, a 52% decrease compared to August 2025.
In the 12-month period, from September 2025 to August 2026, the total catch was 1,027 thousand tonnes, a 2% increase from the preceding 12-month period. There was a 7% increase in the pelagic catch, while the demersal catch decreased by 5% between periods. The flatfish catch decreased by 10% between periods.
