The total catch of Icelandic vessels in February 2019 was over 74 thousand tonnes which is a 13% decrease from February 2018. Pelagic catch decreased since no capelin was caught in the period. Demersal catch was just over 42 thousand tonnes and increased by 12% compared to February 2018.
In the 12 month period from March 2018 to February 2019 the total catch has decreased by 7% compared with the same period one year earlier. The value index in February is 5.4% higher than in February 2018.
