The total fish catch in January 2026 was nearly 75 thousand tonnes, a decrease of 5% compared with January the year before. Demersal catch decreased by 11% year-on-year, pelagic catch increased by 1%, while flatfish catch decreased by 27%.
During the period from February 2025 to January 2026, the total catch reached 1,028 thousand tonnes, representing a 4% increase compared with same period year earlier. Pelagic catch increased by 11% compared with the previous period while flatfish catch decreased by 17% and demersal catch decreased by 2%.
