The total fish catch in July 2022 was about 88 thousand tonnes according to preliminary data, which is very similar to the catch in July 2021. Demersal catch was 24 thousand tonnes and pelagic catch was 62 thousand tonnes.
In the 12 months period from August 2021 to July 2022 the total catch was about 1.5 million tonnes which is 40% more than in the same period one year earlier. Pelagic catch was just over one million tonnes and demersal catch was 440 thousand tonnes.
Index value of catch in fixed prices is not published for now due to increases in average fish prices in recent months, as the index is traditionally calculated using last year‘s average fish prices.
