Icelandic vessels landed little over 78.3 thousand tonnes in July, 23% less than in July 2023. The change in catch was mostly due to decrease in pelagic catch.
In the 12 month period from August 2023 to July 2024, the catch was just under 1.1 million tonnes which is a 27% decrease from the previous 12 month period which was mainly the consequence of no capelin catch.
Information about catch of fish which are published in this press release are preliminary figures. The data is gathered by the Directorate of Fisheries.
