The total fish catch in June 2022 was nearly 35 thousand tonnes according to preliminary data, which is a 14 thousand tonnes increase compared with June 2021. Demersal catch was 31 thousand tonnes and pelagic catch was 1282 tonnes.
In the 12 months period from July 2021 to June 2022 the total catch was about 1.5 million tonnes which is 40% more than in the same period one year earlier. Pelagic catch was just over one million tonnes and demersal catch was 445 thousand tonnes.
Index value of catch in fixed prices is not published for now due to increases in average fish prices in recent months, as the index is traditionally calculated using last year‘s average fish prices.
Information about catch of fish which are published in this press release are preliminary figures. The data is gathered by the Directorate of Fisheries.
