The fish catch of Icelandic vessels in November 2019 was 69.5 thousand tonnes which is a 29% decrease compared with November last year. Demersal catch was 41 thousand tonnes and decreased by 9%, thereof cod was 26 thousand tonnes. Pelagic catch was 25.8 thousand tonnes which is 48% less than in November last year. Of this herring was about 18.6 thousand tonnes. Flatfish catch was about 1,334 tonnes and shellfish catch was 937 tonnes.

The total catch in the 12 month period decreased by 18%, from 1,272 thousand tonnes in the period from December 2017 to November 2018 to 1,041 thousand tonnes in the period from December 2018 to November 2019.

The value index for November 2019 was 19.8% lower than in November 2018.
