The total catch of Icelandic vessels was nearly 97 thousand tonnes in November 2021 which is 51% more than in November last year. The increase is mostly due to herring catch which tripled and was 46 thousand tonnes compared to 14 thousand tonnes in November 2020. Demersal catch decreased by 2% compared with November last year and was nearly 39 thousand tonnes.
In the 12 month period from December 2020 to November 2021 the total catch was just over 1.105 thousand tonnes which is a 9% increase from the previous 12 months period.
In fixed prices the catch in November 2021 was 10% more than in November last year.
