The total fish catch in September 2022 was about 121 thousand tonnes according to preliminary data, which is 13% more than the catch in September 2021. Demersal catch was 20 thousand tonnes and pelagic catch was 82 thousand tonnes.
In the 12 months period from October 2021 to September 2022 the total catch was about 1.5 million tonnes which is 45% more than in the same period one year earlier. Pelagic catch was just over one million tonnes and demersal catch was 437 thousand tonnes.
Index value of catch in fixed prices is not published for now due to uncertainty in the quality of the data used for the index.
