Total catch of Icelandic vessels in November 2011 was 103,973 tonnes compared to 83,953 tonnes in November 2010. Demersal species accounted for about 44 thousand tonnes, thereof cod 21 thousand tonnes, haddock nearly 6 thousand tonnes, redfish 7 thousand tonnes and saithe 5 thousand tonnes. The pelagic catch was nearly 57 thousand tonnes, thereof herring 50 thousand tonnes and capelin 6 thousand tonnes.
At constant prices the volume of the catch increased by 17.8% in November 2011 compared with November 2010. In the first eleven months of 2011 the value of catch increased by 2.0% compared with the same time-period in 2010.
