Statistics Iceland has analyzed the operating accounts of freezer trawlers for 2011. Freezer trawlers are either pelagic freezer trawlers or demersal freezer trawlers. EBITDA of pelagic freezer trawlers was 35.7% and 25.4% for demersal trawlers.

The net profit of pelagic freezer trawlers was 27.4% and of demersal freezer trawlers 18.9% (according to the annuity approach and 6% rate of return). Traditional approach show that the net profit of pelagic freezer trawlers are 26.8% but 14.4% of demersal freezer trawlers.
