Total catch of Icelandic vessels in December 2013 was 50,421 tonnes compared to 42,814 tonnes in December 2012. Demersal species accounted for 33,400 tonnes, thereof cod 19 thousand tonnes, haddock 3,300 tonnes, redfish 5,500 tonnes and saithe 3 thousand tonnes. The pelagic catch was 15,400 tonnes, mostly herring.

At constant prices the volume of the catch increased by 13,1% in December 2013 compared with December 2012.
