In the first three quarters of 2023, the value of catch of Icelandic vessels was 154 billion ISK according to preliminary statistics, 3% more than during the same period in 2022. The first sale value of demersal catch was 95 billion ISK which is 7% less than last year. The value of pelagic catch was 49 billion ISK, 23% more than in 2022. The total catch was about 1.1 million tonnes but was 1.2 million tonnes in 2022. The quantity was reduced both for demersal and pelagic catch.
