Value of catch was about 10 billion ISK in April 2015, 8.8% less than in April 2014. Cod was as usual the most valuable demersal species, with value of 3,8 billions in April which is a 7,2% decrease compared to April 2014. Value of blue whiting decresed 35.7% compared to April 2014.
Total value of catch from Icelandic vessels from May 2014 to April 2015 was nearly 149 billion ISK and increased by 7% when compared to the same period the year before. Value of pelagic catch increased by 26.3%, mostly due to more capelin and blue whiting catch. The value of cod catch also increased significantly, 14.1%
