Total value of catch in February 2015 was nearly 16.2 billion ISK, 41.7% higher than in February 2014. The increase is mostly due to significant inceases in the value of capelin catch. Value of the capelin catch amounted to nearly 6 billion ISK, an increase of about 4 billion compared to February 2014. The value of cod catch amounted to 6.2 billion ISK, a 24% increase compared to February 2014.
Total catch value from March 2014 to February 2015 was 142.6 billion ISK which is nearly the same amount as from previous 12 month period. Value of demersal and pelagic species has increased in the last 12 months but value of flatfish and shellfish has decreased.
