The value of catch by Icelandic vessels was 12.7 billion ISK in August 2016 which is a 2% increase compared with August 2015. Value of demersal catch was 6.5 billion ISK, an increase of 10% from the previous year. The value of pelagic catch was 4.8 billion ISK which is 7% less than in 2015. The value of flatfish catch increased by 19% and was 983 million ISK.
Total value of catch in the 12 month period from September 2015 to August 2016 was 137.5 billion ISK which is a decrease of 11% compared with the same period one year earlier. This decrease is mainly due to 37% decrease in pelagic catch.
