The value of catch by Icelandic vessels was 9.4 billion ISK in July 2016 which is a 2.8 billion ISK decrease (23%) compared with July 2015. Value of demersal catch was 5.7 billion ISK, a decrease of 13% from the previous year. The value of pelagic catch was nearly 2.4 billion ISK a decrease of 40% compared with July 2015. Value of flatfish catch was just over 970 million ISK which is 26% less than in July 2015. Shellfish catch was 355 million ISK compared with 513 million in July 2015
Total value of catch in the 12 month period from August 2015 to July 2016 was nearly 137 billion ISK which is a decrease of 10.6% compared with the same period one year earlier. This decrease is mostly due to 38% less pelagic catch.
