The value of catch by Icelandic vessels was 8.9 billion ISK in June 2016 which is over 2 billion ISK decrease compared with June 2015. Value of demersal catch was just over 7 billion ISK, a decrease by 14.5% from the previous year. The value of pelagic catch which was mainly mackerel, was 136 million ISK a decrease of 86.4% compared with June 2015. Value of flatfish catch was 1.2 billion ISK which is 6.1% less than in June 2015.
Total value of catch in the 12 month period from July 2015 to June 2016 was roughly 140 billion ISK which is a decrease of 8.3% compared with the same period one year earlier. In that period the value of demersal catch has increased by 0.3% and flatfish catch by 25.8%, while the value of pelagic catch has decreased by 86.4%
