The Building Cost Index compiled in the middle of January 2005 stood at 313.3 points (June 1987=100) and is 2.82% higher than in the previous month. The index applies to February.
The rise in the index is for most part explained by contractual increase in wages in the building industry. The average wage increase in the BCI is 4.4% (effect on the index 1.8%).
In the last twelve months the BCI has risen by 8.6%.
