The building cost index compiled in the middle of April 2009 is 474.2 points (June 1987=100), 3.4% lower than in the previous month. The index applies to May 2009.
In accordance with Act No. 10/2009 from 11 March 2009 the value added tax on labour cost on construction sites and services of designers and supervisors is temporarily refunded as of 1 March 2009. Hence, labour cost in the BCI decreased by 9.5% (effect on the index -3.1%).
In the last twelve months the BCI has increased by 13.9%.
