Total labour costs per hour decreased by 4.2% from previous quarter in Manufacturing. The decrease was 3.4% in Wholesale, 2.8% in Transport and 1.5% in Construction.

Total labour costs excluding bonuses decreased between quarters by 0.8% in Manufacturing. During the same period the total labour costs excluding bonuses increased by 0.3% in Wholesale and by 0.6% in the economic activities of Construction and Transport.

From the previous year total labour costs rose in all economic activities. The increase ranged from 4.1% in Manufacturing to 8.9% in Construction.

The labour cost index measures, on a quarterly basis, the development of labour costs per hour worked. The index is not adjusted to changes in working hours or labour structure.
