Total labour costs increased between the quarters in the economic activity of Transport, storage and communication by 0.3%, 0.6% in Construction and 1.7% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair. During the same period the total labour costs remained unchanged in the economic activity of Manufacturing.

Total labour costs excluding bonuses increased between quarters by 0.2% in Construction. During the same period the total labour costs excluding bonuses decreased by 0.3% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair, by 0.5% in Transport, storage and communication and by 0.8% in Manufacturing.

From the previous year total labour costs rose in all economic activities. The increase ranged from 1.6% in Construction to 5.0% in Transport, storage and communication and Manufacturing. During the same period total labour costs excluding bonuses rose from 6.5% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair to 10.3% in Manufacturing.

The labour cost index measures, on a quarterly basis, the development of labour costs per hour worked. The index is not adjusted to changes in working hours or labour structure.
