Total labour costs per hour decreased between the 2nd and 3rd quarter 2011 by 2.1% in the economic activity of Manufacturing, 2.4% in Transport, storage and communication, 5% in Construction and by 6.5% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair.
Total labour costs excluding bonuses increased between quarters by 5.5% in Manufacturing, by 0.5% in Transport, storage and communication and by 0.2% in Construction and Wholesale and retail trade; repair.
Annual total labour costs increased in all economic activities. The increase ranged from 5.3% in Manufacturing to 8.3% in Transport, storage and communication. From the same quarter of previous year, total labour costs excluding bonuses rose from 5.1% in Wholesale and retail trade; repair to 7.6% in Construction.
The labour cost index measures, on a quarterly basis, the development of labour costs per paid hour. The index is not adjusted to changes in working hours or labour structure.
